About Anna Maria Island, Florida

Also referred to as Anna Maria Key, Anna Maria Island is a barrier island located off the southwestern coast of Florida. Bounded by the Gulf of Mexico, Anna Maria Island is 7 miles long. Residents are just minutes from Bradenton and Sarasota and approximately an hour from Tampa.

Three Small Cities, One Desirable Community

Anna Maria Island is divided into three cities — Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, and Bradenton Beach — with a population totaling less than 10,000. Travel to the island is limited by vehicle to two bridges extending from mainland Sarasota. In addition to personal vehicles, Anna Maria Island is accessible by boat and is serviced by public transportation from both Manatee County and Sarasota County.

Average temperatures on the island range from the 60s to the 80s year-round.
