Amazing Beaches in Sarasota, FL

Life is good at the beach!

Sarasota is famous worldwide for its spectacular beaches, thanks to its amazing location on the central west coast of Florida. Sarasota County includes the Sarasota Bay and the Keys, which comprise several barrier islands between Sarasota Gulf and the Gulf of Mexico. The beaches of the Keys are recognized for their white sands and crystal blue waters. If you’re looking for a beautiful beach in the Sarasota area, you won’t have to look far! Here are some of the most well-known beaches around.

Top Beaches in Sarasota County

Siesta Key

This public beach is one of the most popular in Sarasota and features soft, white, crystal-quartz sand, shallow placid waters, and ten volleyball courts. Named “The Best Beach in Florida” by Florida Trend Magazine, Siesta Key’s beach also offers tennis courts, playgrounds, restrooms/showers, lifeguards, concession stands, and picnic areas with grills.

Venice Beach

Located a stone’s throw away from Venice’s shopping area, Venice Beach is known for its dining area, concession stands, lifeguards, and scuba diving. Since the coral reef is only a quarter mile from the shore, snorkeling and scuba diving are common in these parts. The beach itself is a treasure trove of shells and sharks’ teeth.

Venice Fishing Pier is located on the south end of the island, offering a 700 ft. pier for fishing and amazing views. The pier is open from 6:30 a.m. – 9 p.m and offers free access.

Gorgeous Oceanfront Island Communities

Sarasota is home to a number of keys: small barrier islands floating along the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. Many of these communities are small and close-knit, without too much commercial development. Others are luxurious by nature, with gorgeous estate and upscale condominiums for sale. Come explore.

Manasota Key Beaches Are Fantastic

Manasota Beach

Along with year-round lifeguards, Manasota Beach offers amazing white sandy beaches with clear water, perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, and boogie boarding.

Blind Pass Beach

Located South of Manasota Beach, Blind Pass Beach is perfect for swimming, shelling, and fishing. This beach is quiet and private, a common destination for artists and anglers seeking relaxation and inspiration by the ocean.

Lido Key's Top Notch Beaches

Lido Beach

Lido Beach, also known as “Mid-Key,” is the public beach located in close proximity to the Lido Beach Resort. This beach offers lifeguards, with chairs lining the shores, concession stands, picnic tables, shopping, floating wheelchairs and more!

North Lido Beach

Travel north on the Lido Key shoreline, past the lifeguard chairs, and you’ll enter North Lido Beach. This quieter beach is ideal for walking and enjoying the sound of the waves on the shore.

South Lido Beach

South Lido Beach, located south of the public beach, is a coastal park featuring 100 acres of naturally rich environment and walking trails.
