How to Live Like a Local

Things to Do & Places to See

Stretching from Siesta Key to Venice Island, Casey Key is a relatively isolated community that's just eight miles long. A single road runs the length of the island, which is largely undeveloped. This makes it an ideal place to call home, especially if you're looking for complete and total privacy.

Although most of the area's attractions are on the mainland, Casey Key has a small commercial district towards the southern tip of the island. Here, you'll find a selection of vacation rentals, boat charters, restaurants, and beach shops.

Of course, the main draw to Casey Key has to be the beaches. You'll find plenty of access points throughout the island, but most locals prefer the Nokomis Public Beach, which has its own boardwalk and boat launch. North Jetty Park and Beach is also a top spot for anglers to catch some fish.
